Jim has had an interesting life to date. Leaving Port Fairy in SouWest Victoria at sixteen and doing a boilermaker apprentership in Geelong at Alcoa. after some time and realising being a boilermaker wasn’t for him, so he then learnt how to be a fitness instructor at the School of Mines in Ballarat. When a good friend of his who was flying planes in Dubai was home to see his parents told him he could get a job there. He went there and did at a gymnasium called the Pharaohs Club. He finally found his calling though after doing a photography course at the Photography Studies College PSC in Melbourne as you will see from his website Port fairy has provided some of his interesting images but after contacting governments in counties such as Saudi Arabia to attend and document a cultural and heritage festival, Sragen, Indonesia, Syria, Brunei. etc. He counts himself very fortunate and grateful to have had these experiences when he did as for the past seventeen years he has had Progressive Multiple Sclerosis which has steadily gotten worse and more challenging. An example being he only needed a walking stick for his mobility and could still live at home at the beginning of having the invisible enemy! Now he has to use a wheelchair or motorised chair and lives in a nursing home. Jim’s email is if you would like to contact him is - jim@jamespevitt.com
